Cocobelle developed from two individuals who were traveling the globe and following their dreams. One is a sailor, Ignacio, who was crossing the worldâ??s oceans in search of perfect waves in far away places. He strung jewelry as he sailed and sold it on the beaches wherever he landed. The other, Lucy, was moved by a burning curiosity to connect with tribal cultures in distant lands. Along her travels, she used the colorful materials and unique beads she collected to make handbags and sandals, which she sold back in the States upon her return.
Their paths crossed and eventually they merged their small businesses. What happened was everyone loved their creations and the stories behind them. So they sold more and continued creating. A good friend, Laura, joined them after having spent years leading yoga retreats around the world and working as an editor and translator. At this moment, Cocobelle was formed. Today Ignacio, Lucy and their two children live in Bali, Indonesia, and Jose Ignacio, Uruguay, with constant trips to New York City. Laura is based in the United States.
