Barefoot Tess partnered with ShoeHunting.com to offer a free pair of shoes to one winner based on most embarrassing shoe story submission. There were several hysterical entries, but one in particular captured our attention and tickled our senses beyond the rest.

"About a year ago I got a new job that required me to completely revamp my wardrobe. I was shopping on a pretty tight budget - it was my first job after grad school - and against my better judgment decided I could skimp on some basic items. I purchased a pair of black patent (read âplasticâ) ballet flats at a discount store. They were fairly comfortable, got the job done, and would last me until I could afford something of higher quality - or so I thought.
During my first week at work I wore them three times. On the third day, I was sitting in a meeting when I noticed a terrible smell coming up from under the table. My feet had been sweating in those plastic shoes and they were *stinky*! Unfortunately, I wasnât the only one who noticed. A coworker commented on it, in the middle of the meeting, and soon everyone was talking about it. I tried to joke along with the others, playing like it wasnât me, but I wanted to melt into the floor! Needless to say, I threw out the flats that night. Lesson learned: donât skimp on the shoes!" -Allyson

We are all born barefoot. And that's not the last time we find ourselves in this shoe-less state. We shower barefoot, get pedicures barefoot, so swimming barefoot, and pumice our feet barefoot. These are all times when it is socially acceptable and often absolutely necessary to be without shoes. No one is going to do a double-take or snicker if you are seen barefoot in these common shoe-less situations.
Sadly, however, we have all had barefoot experiences where where this is not the case... where we've been caught in circumstances where we would do anything to have shoes adorning our naked feet. Since I have bundles of cash to giveaway and an affinity for embarrassing stories, here comes another contest.

This little piggy asked a question.
Thought she could have some foot fun.
Came to her blog to check the answers,

This little piggy went, "aha! It's time to up the ante and make this playful question into a full-fledged competition" all the way home.
What do pigs have to do with toes? Pigs: fat, round, pink, dirt rollers with flattened snouts and curly tails. Toes: long, slender, pink, ring holders with bursts of color on pedicured nails. Ok, so they're both pink. And the pigs went to a market... something my toes enjoy doing as well. But still. Pigs? Really? It does our feet no justice.
And so I challenge you - toe and pig lovers alike - to reinvent this chant.
